Lamento for Viola and Piano

It is difficult to understand how there is virtually no information available about Louis Dumas )1877-1952) who won the prestigious 1906 Prix de Rome for musical compostion. He served as director of the Dijon Music Conservatory, where he taught. He appears to have written in most genres and his 1907 String Quartet was well received on its premiere. The Lamento was dedicated to his friend Raymond Marthe. It dates from 1903.
